Escape To Thailand

Every year many foreigners come to Thailand looking for a better life or reprieve from some form of oppression their current country imposes. Some come looking for new opportunities, some look for love, and others come for healing. I'm attempting to find the trifecta with an emphasis on the latter. It's the American healthcare system and over inflated cost of living that's oppressing me into a state of poverty without affordable treatment options for my health disorders. By luck or fate, I've managed to meet a few amazing people that live in Thailand whom I plan to create videos and memories with during my visit. I'll also be documenting a few of the medical procedures I'm having/looking into while here to see if I can improve my health and mitigate pain.

Escape for new beginnings ✨️

Getting to Thailand was brutal, but arriving in Thailand I've never felt so warm and welcomed! (Not only because of the Bangkok heat 😜). It began on Sunday Dec. 8th at 12:30am with a 5 hour car ride to Denver's Airport. I had a 2 hour flight to Seattle with a 3 hour layover, followed by a 14 hour flight to S. Korea, and finally a 6 hour flight to Bangkok International Airport. I flew delta until I got to Korea, and their economy seats are awful for anyone over 6 foot. Unfortunately, I was placed in a middle seat most of my way, shoulder to shoulder crowded, knees pushed against the seat in front of me, with the only person in the row in front of me leaning his seat back further... The seats have no lumbar support, the head rest is too padded forcing your spine into a C shape, and God forbid you bought a neck pillow that will shove your neck even further in front of your seat. The butt part of the seat is also not padded enough for anyone that has nerve issues running down their sciatic or issues such as hemorrhoids (sorry, tmi but someone has to say it.) There was just no way to be comfortable long enough to get any sleep. Korean Air was slightly more comfortable. Still had a middle seat, but they were shorter with less padding on the headrest so it actually fit my spine better. I may have dosed off for an hour or so, but i was afraid of sleep deprivation after being mostly awake for 72 hours (couldnt sleep the night before my trip/nerves) and worried about my ability to function properly in a foreign country after midnight. I was so relieved to be on the ground however and motivated to get to my hotel and lay flat. I was very fortunate to have Pui meet me there, which gave me a second wind to push through my fatigue.

I was gifted by a beautiful jasmine flower arrangement, and treated to authentic Thai cuisine at aunt Pim's place the next day while in Bangkok! We had trouble finding my booked hotel the first night as I didn't have a SIM card for my phone yet (no mobile internet) , and the driver ended up taking us to a place with a similar name. Ended up spending twice as much in cab fares but finally made it to my first hotel around 2am. However, the night wasn't quite over yet....

The story continues soon, but I first want to thank Pui for her gifts, her genuine kindness and affection, and everything she's helped me with since I've arrived. Words aren't enough, but thank you from the bottom of my heart ❣️ It's been awhile, but I'm finally excited to see how the next chapter of life unfolds.

If you feel lost in life, stuck in a place you don't belong, or without purpose, don't give up. Chase the escape, your best life is out there waiting!
